The Firebird

On Saturday, January 28, 2017 we begin the year of the Fire Rooster.

Get ready for a ride!

Year of the Rooster

The Rooster is renowned for cocky behavior, strutting around the barnyard and dominating the pen. He is known for his loud cry at dawn, loudly stating ‘If I am awake, you should be as well.’

The Year of the Rooster is often dominated by social shift towards progress, honor and integrity. Of course what one person sees as progress, another sees as a step backwards. Honor for some is dishonor for others. Though Rooster years often encourage people to be less stubborn, in this Fire year there will be clashes of beliefs and values.

There is great divisiveness in the world, primarily based on opinions about what is right and what should be done. While you follow your heart when defining your own values, you will benefit from stepping above the conflicts and looking at them from a higher level. As you move upwards in your viewpoint, the defining elements of black and white become grey.

There will be lots of crowing this year, proclaiming opinions and values intended to be ‘the truth’. It is especially important to recognize that most ‘truth’ is subjective and based upon beliefs and objectives. There is always more than one side to every story, and most sides can be supported by logical points. This does not make it ‘truth’. This year pledge to remain aware of your own truth while being open to understand everyone else’s truth as well. Our progressive evolution depends on our ability to accept that other people may think differently than us and we can still co-exist. Harmony is achievable.

The Element of Fire

In addition to the high energy that awakens in a Rooster year, there is also the Fire element to consider.

Fire represents heat, the application of energy to raise temperature. It is a time when molecules are stimulated to move faster. In a Fire year, recognize that things may get hot and emotions will rise. Fire always stimulates change and sometimes that change can be uncomfortable.

When considering Chinese Horoscopes, It is important to remember that Chinese Philosophy always incorporates the concept of balance, of yin and yang. The feminine perspective of fire provides the Violet Flame, where we recognize fire as something we need to survive. Violet Flame invokes warmth and compassion, the feeling of comfort at home and the healing power of heat. While the year of Fire can be hot and challenging, it can also be a year of growth and increased light. In your personal aura YOU are the one who chooses how to use the energy.

What to Watch For

Combining the masculine elements of fire and rooster brings the potential of a year full of controversy, debate and finger-pointing. There are many challenges to overcome and many different opinions about the best way to do things. In a time when more people are mobilizing than ever before, people will stand up for their rights and boldly proclaim that their way is better. Unfortunately the simple existence of contrast means that there will always be two opposing sides in each discussion. Recognize that division serves to weaken rather than strengthen your position. The best way to overcome ‘Us and Them’ is to create a common ‘Us’. We are all in this together.

The Year of the Rooster provides prospects to elevate and raise our vibration.

In chaos there is opportunity.

Shifting the Year of the Fire Rooster

This will be an important year for humanity. You can have influence on the outcome. While it may seem that we must simply follow along helplessly with whatever happens, the reality is that your thoughts, words and actions have direct influence on the mass consciousness. Whatever you put out is amplified, encouraging those who have similar thoughts and potentially shifting those who think differently.

Change is implemented not through head on confrontation but instead through shifting of perspective. Virtually every story has a viewpoint, and if you shift the viewpoint the story changes.

Do you spread love or hate?

Do you resonate with confidence or with fear?

Do you stimulate growth in others or do you awaken resistance?

Whenever you manage to address situations from a higher perspective, a shift towards positive outcome is more likely. Of course you will not win every battle and that is the secret. Battle is for losers. There is always a way to elevate a situation towards benefit for all.

As you strut your stuff around the barnyard, recognize that while you may seem high and mighty to the chickens, to a fox you are simply a meal. Sometimes it is better to remain silent and go with the flow. Use your dashing energy wisely and pick the smart fights. It is not necessary to get involved in every debate or argument.

Pace yourself and retain your power for when it really matters. YOU have the power to directly influence your vibration in the moment. This year, take hold of your power first and foremost. Once you are in higher vibration, you have more balance and more influence.

Because of it’s early morning routine announcing the return of the sun, the Rooster is associated with resurrection. Many things that have been dormant will come to life this year.

While some may see the reawakening of certain concepts as negative, the year also provides for the acceleration of old projects. What have you been thinking about for years but have not really started? Now is the year to do it.

Resurrect YOUR old goals and make them come alive. The energy is there to support you once you get some momentum.

Bird On Fire

The symbol of a flaming bird is common in our mythology. Fire Rooster is very similar to the Phoenix rising from the ashes, the resurrection of hope and renewal of life. It is also the symbol of the Mockingjay, the badge of resistance that changed the world by recognizing the power of the masses over the power of the few. The Year of the Fire Rooster will be an exciting ride.

Stay grounded, open your heart to others, and connect to your higher self.

Who Rules The USA

Edward Snowden believed that the government fundamentally “had noble intents,” as did the American people.

However, admitting he was naive, Snowden discusses the upper echelons of government and how they are pervaded with corruption, giving him the understanding that led him to do what he did – whistleblow on mass surveillance programs.

Snowden insists that the importance of the citizen in having the right to know and understand the policies that govern us – namely, one in particular, surveillance – and that this right is vital to our democratic functioning.

It’s important to revisit this notion and ask the question ‘why?’

Why did Edward Snowden whistleblow on the government’s surveillance program?

Did he have an axe to grind? No.

He simply saw a fundamentally flawed system, vitally wrong governing, and asked why haven’t the citizens been told?

As Snowden points out in a talk he gives, the vast majority of Congress knew nothing about the programs maintained and instituted, nor was the Senate and House fully briefed on covert actions.

He points out the political unwillingness, post 9/11, to confront difficult questions about what was right and wrong, in this regard. Why didn’t the public have the opportunity to participate in debate about their security and wellbeing?

Why were top officials unaware of this?

Only a small handful of officials knew of these ongoing policies.
The creation of mass surveillance programs behind closed doors “illustrates” an “institutional momentum” that is “changing the boundaries of the rights that we enjoy as free people in a free society,” Snowden says.

Mass surveillance is a critical issue. It still continues to violate civil and political rights. Snowden, however, is arguably only a glitch on the top of the echelon’s radar.

He can only report on what he knew, not current behind the doors policy, which most government and legal bodies still know nothing about – or are only fed scraps.

The system of government has essentially degraded our society. Our democratic processes have eroded away, not allowing us to know about the issues, let alone policy that is still being engaged in.

Snowden doesn’t claim to have all the answers., but he is able to assist in the steps along the way, ensuring that his efforts aren’t in vain and that we don’t forget.

Snowden eloquently puts it “We have lost the freedom to associate with our judgement.”

And that in itself, is where the real danger rests.

A Magical Word: FUCK

One of the most interesting words in the English language today is the word `fuck'.

It is a magical word.

Just by its sound it can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love.

In language it falls into many grammatical categories. It can be used as a verb, both transitive, "John fucked Mary," and intransitive, "Mary was fucked by John", and as a noun, "Mary is a fine fuck." It can be used as an adjective, "Mary is fucking beautiful."

As you can see, there are not many words with the versatility of fuck.

Besides the sexual meaning, there are also the following uses:

Ignorance: Fucked if I know.
Trouble: I guess I am fucked now!
Fraud: I got fucked at the used car lot.
Aggression: Fuck you!
Displeasure: What the fuck is going on here?
Difficulty: I can't understand this fucking job.
Incompetence: He is a fuck-off.
Suspicion: What the fuck are you doing?
Enjoyment: I had a fucking good time.
Request: Get the fuck out of here.
Hostility: I'm going to knock your fucking head off.
Greeting: How the fuck are you?
Apathy: Who gives a fuck?
Innovation: Get a bigger fucking hammer.
Surprise: Fuck! You scared the shit out of me!
Anxiety: Today is really fucked.

And it is very healthy if every morning you do it as a transcendental meditation just when you get up, first thing, repeat the mantra "fuck you" five times; it clears your throat too!"

Mothers Can Stop Wars

Just imagine how much power and influence all the women marching today could have if the centered their protests into a cohesive direction, like stopping the bombings and wars of aggression; exposing systematic corruption and ending pedophilia, ad infinitum...

...After all, it's you mothers that are raising these soldiers to kill.

It is you who can teach your children that war is wrong.

Take back your sacred duty by raisings your children with a conscience.

You have the power to stop anything!

Truth, Love, Soul

You may not like how things are going.

You may not agree with those who seem to have power over your happiness.

But here is a great secret of life:

You have way more influence than you realize.

Gandhi called this influence Truth Force – Love Force – Soul Force –
It is the inherent power in you to conjure the truth and the very best in other people.

It is the power in you to change people’s hearts and minds by changing the way you see them – by changing the way you observe them.

Nobel physicist Max Planck said “When you change the way you look at things – the things you look at change.”

Scientists have discovered that when a teacher is merely told a student has a higher IQ, that student’s IQ rises to meet the teacher’s expectations.

Expecting the best from people, brings out the best in people.
But the reverse is also true. Seeing the worst in people, brings out the worst in people.

Your consciousness has the power to conjure the very best or the worst in everyone you observe – even at a distance…

Our friends. Our family. Our children. Our co-workers. Our police.
Even our Presidents. We have the power to change each and every one of their hearts and minds, simply by changing our own hearts and minds about them.

We all have darkness in us – but we also have the Light – and in every moment we have another chance – another choice – of whether darkness or the Light is given reign over our consciousness.

What you stand witness for in others, is strengthened in them by the power of your observation.

When you look for the worst in someone – when you make them wrong in your mind – when you refuse to see the best in them – you are committing a spiritual assault of the worst kind – for you are testifying against their ability to choose the Light, standing witness for the darkness in them, and strengthening its power over their heart and mind.

If you’ve ever faced a hostile crowd, a hostile cop, a hostile lover – you’ve felt the destructive force of another’s contempt for you.
Do not give in to this way of seeing!

Stand witness for the Light in others!

The unassailable divine spark forever shines in the hearts of every man, woman and child – just waiting to be called forward.

When you call on the divine spark in someone you lend it the strength to prevail in their consciousness.

The power of your divine witnessing calls forth the truth in other people’s minds.

It calls forth the love in their hearts.

It calls forth the grace and beauty of their souls.

Divine witnessing is the most powerful form of non-violence, because it heals the very source of violence – it turns your enemies into friends – even when you thought they were deplorable and wrong.

In a place where you see no light – you make your own.

You call upon the divine spark within you – and invite it to reveal itself in those who oppose you.

The divine spark in your heart ignites itself in others through the blazing light of your consciousness,

Witness for that.
Strengthen that.
INSIST upon that.

The truth in me calls out to the truth in you – for it is only that I will stand witness to.

It is only that I am determined to see it is only that I will testify for.

For to condemn you would be to condemn me – and we are the same.

And so I insist on regarding you as true....
....and good....
....and wise...
....and kind.

And so it will be, because that is what we all want to see.

R.I.P. Uncle Robert

When he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun.

Just For Awhile

How much can a man take?
How much pain before a heart can break?
I placed my life into your hands, but now....
....I've got to change my plans.
Just for a while,
I'm going to hold back my tears,
open my ears to my heart;
and baby, just for a while,
I'm going to be someone strong,
keep walking on without you.
That's what I'll do.
How much can man cry?
What does it take before he sees the light?
My body was weak for your touch, but now...
...it hurts too much.
Baby, just for a while,
I'm going to hold back my tears,
open my ears to my heart;
and baby, just for a while,
I'm going to be someone strong,
keep walking on without you.
That's what I'll do.
I thought being second was how it should be.
It took me losing you to find me.
I'm better off all by myself...
...than living with you in a shell.
Just for a little while,
I'm going to hold back my tears,
open my ears to my heart;
and baby, just for a little while,
I'm going to be someone strong,
keep walking on without you.
That's what I'll do
