Personal UFO Experience

In the 1970's gold prices soared and interestly enough, for the very similar reasons the increase in gold today is breaking the $1,000 level. The increase in gold gave my father the idea that we could go and dredge for gold along the riches gold lined rivers in California. The Yuba, American, and Cosumnes Rivers. My father would take us for summers at a time.

This particular summer was in the late 70's, and we were camped along the Cosumnes River.

We worked every day from sunrise to sunset, and upon returning to our campsite at around 6pm, we would encounter thousands upon thousands of swarming mosquitos. It usually took a couple of hours before the swarm would deminish to just a few stubborn. We would go and lay by the river and stare up at the night sky. I'll never forget how different the night sky looked out there. You could see the Milky Way, the millions of stars, and if you focused on one single star for a few minutes, you would soon be able to see all the satellites moving.

Well this particular evening, we were laying beside the river, with our feet closest to the water. All on our backs, with our hands lifted up behind our heads, and we were just staring up at the sky. There was a hill on the other side of the river, and I guess it was about 5000 feet high. It was covered with trees and greenery of such.

I was just on the phone the other day with my father, and I happen to mention to him, "Dad, do you remember seeing something up at the River one night back.....", and he interrupts me and finishes my sentence.... ...along the Cosumnes River....I was surprised, and asked, "Why hadn't we ever discussed it?"

Well, here is what I saw, then I will tell you what my father saw.

I was laying there and above the hill I saw a triangular shaped object appear as to hover out from the other side. There was absolutely no sound. Now remember, we are out literally miles from any civilization, it was completely pitch black and silent out there....then all of a sudden it backed away. It was a matters of seconds that it did this.

Thinking back on it now, I can't imagine why were were not frightened, or startled about it or even excited about it....we just lay there and casually discuss it...remembering my brother saying, "oh, it was a helicopter", and also remembering me saying, "couldn't have been, we would have heard it".

That is the last we spoke of it. I don't recall anything else that evening.

Now after the conversation with my father the other day, his story is that it was round, and just the very small tip of it came over the hill, and that he could see windows with a red lights shining through. My father proceeds to say that he heard a small 2 engine plane in the background, and at the moment he heard the plane, the UFO took off in an instant, and he said that it must have been about a mile long, and says that the pilot of that plane had to have seen this huge object in the sky.

It was extreme work, that took extreme endurance to stay underwater for 8 hours dredging for gold along a strong current, and I hated every minute of it. But I have got to tell you I would give anything to get a chance to spend a summer along anyone of those rivers.

It was an experience worth reliving.
