Deepak Chopra (Hindu दीपक चोपड़ा ; born October 22, 1946) is an Indian physician and author. He has written extensively on spirituality and diverse topics in mind body medicine. Chopra says that he has been profoundly influenced by Jiddu Krishnamurit. He has also been influenced by the teachings of Vendanta and the Bhagavad Gita. Chopra has influenced the New Thought Movement in the United States.
His core message is:
To collectively become a critical mass of peace consciousness in the world that will offer creative solutions to resolve conflicts and to address social injustice, ecological imbalance, and economic disparities. When we achieve this mission, militarism as a means to power, will become irrelevant in the world.
The message is clear, and I use this everyday of my life
Quantum Physics proved to Bohr and Einstein, with whose help Chopra proposes to tell us how to stave off the inevitable changes brought on by mortality and the passing of years. He advises us on how to "defeat entropy," to "believe" enough to offer palpable resistance to processes of physical alteration, and to "reinterpret your body" such that renewal will come of it.
"We are not victims of aging, sickness, and death. These are part of the scenery, not of the seer, who is immune to any form of change. This seer is the spirit, the expression of eternal being."He himself believes in "a land where no one is old," and where "we create our bodies as we create the experience of our world."
Life is a creative enterprise.
There are many levels of creation and therefore many levels of possible mastery. To be completely loving, nonjudgmental, and self-accepting is an exalted goal, but the important thing is to work from a concept of wholeness.
Deepak offers the simpliest of 7 intentions.
1. Sunday: Being for Peace

6. Friday: Creating for Peace
Use this day to come up with at least one creative idea to resolve a conflict, either in your personal life or your family circle or among friends. Try to create trust & eliminate hidden hostility & suspicion- the two great enemies of peace.
7. Saturday: Sharing for Peace
Use this day to share your practice of peacemaking with two people. As more of us participate in this sharing, our practice will expand into a critical mass - reaching many instead of a few.
Over the course of his career as physician, teacher, and bestselling author, Deepak Chopra has received thousands of questions from people facing every kind of challenge. In a world full of distractions and stress, how does one find time for meditation?
Hidden among all of these questions are answers waiting to be uncovered.
Deepak Chopra shows you how to expand your awareness, which is the key to the confusion and conflict we all face.
“The secret is that the level of the problem is never the level of the solution”
By rising to the level of the solution in your own awareness, you can transform obstacles into opportunities. Chopra leads the reader to what he calls “the true self,” where peace, clarity, and wisdom serve as guides in times of crisis.
For Chopra, spirituality is primarily about consciousness, not about religious dogma or relying on the conventional notion of God.
“There is no greater power for success and personal growth than your own awareness.”
