The Holographic Universe

The Holographic Universe is a "must read" for anyone with an open, inquiring mind and a curiosity about the cosmos in which we reside. Talbot has a talent for presenting complex subjects in layman's terms, yet make it interesting reading.

While some of the topics may at first glance appear intimidating, I must admit, it was a difficult beginning, but once you get through the first chapter, it becomes quite readable and understandable. I'm definitely not saying that the The Holographic Universe is light reading. You are likely to find the material presented here absolutely astonishing. I personally guarantee that it will change the way you look at disease to a simple wart.

The ramifications for humanity are staggering as this book seriously challenges the basis for our cultural view of reality: materialism. After reading The Holographic Universe, you will understand why so many people are starting to say that a paradigm shift in our science and culture is at hand. Science is searching for its soul; while spirituality seeks intellegence.

This notion of the interconnectedness of all things is at the heart of the Holographic Universe theory. The nature of a hologram is such that any part of the hologram contains all the information of the whole of it. And therein lies the key to one of the most baffling and intriguing phenomena of human experience; namely "synchronicity". The famous Swiss psychologist, Carl Jung, gave us that term many years ago. Synchronicity might be well described as "meaningful coincidence". However, in the case of synchronicity, the word "coincidence" must not be confused with random chance.

When a true synchronicity occurs it seems that there might be something much more profound taking place. It's a moment, often times seemingly all too brief, when our consciousness opens the door to let in a glimpse of the hologram at work.

Talbot notes that Dr. F. David Peat, a Canadian physicist and author of The Bridge Between Matter and Mind, says that such coincidences are actually "flaws in the fabric of reality".

Talbot adds to Peat's comment by saying, "They reveal that our thought processes are much more connected to the physical world than has been hitherto suspected."

I was given a death sentence over 20 years ago when I was diagnosed with a terminal illness. After reading this book, I can fully understand how and why I am still here and healthy. Mind you, I've not been on any prescription drugs in over 8 years.

I don't even take aspirin.

I'll share one of the stories:

Brocq's disease involves a horribly disfiguring hereditary condition. Victims of Brocq's disease develop a thick, horny covering over their skin that resembles the scales of a reptile. The skin can become so hardened and rigid that even the slightest movement will cause it to crack and bleed.

Brocq's disease was incurable until 1951 when a sixteen-year-old boy with an advanced case of the affliction was referred as a last resort to a hypnotherapist named A.A. Mason at the Queen Victoria Hospital in London. Mason discovered that the boy was a good hypnotic subject and could easily be put into a deep state of trance.

While the boy was in trance, Mason told him that his Brocq's disease was healing and would soon be gone. Five days later the scaly layer covering the boy's left arm fell off, revealing soft, healthy flesh beneath. By the end of ten days the arm was completely normal.

Mason and the boy continued to work on different body areas until all of the scaly skin was gone. The boy remained symptom-free for at least five years, at which point Mason lost touch with him.

This is extraordinary because Brocq's disease is a genetic condition, and getting rid of it involves more than just controlling autonomic processes such as blood flow patterns and various cells of the immune system. It means tapping into the masterplan, the DNA programming itself. So, it would appear that when we access the right strata of our beliefs, our minds can override even our genetic makeup.
Talbot writes:
"There are many holographic concepts in shamanistic thinking as well. The Hawaiian kahunas say that everything in the universe is intimately interconnected and that this interconnectivity can almost be thought of as a web. The shaman, recognizing the interconnectedness of all things, sees himself at the center of this web and thus capable of affecting every other part of the universe (it is interesting to note that the concept of 'maya' is also frequently likened to a web in Hindu thought."
I've had a copy of the book for a little over a year and in the course of my own journey towards enlightenment, and the study of the interconnectedness of all things. I've had occasion to refer to it again and again. The Holographic Universe is an essential book for anyone interested in the nature of the universe and how human concsiousness seems to be woven into the fabric of reality.

I just finished reading it for the 2nd time. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has been diagnosed with any type of illness or disease.
