NO VOLVERAN -The Venezuelan Revolution Now

Socialism refers to various theories of economic organization advocating state, worker or public ownership and administration of the means of productions and allocation of resources, and a society characterized by equal access to resources for all individuals with an egalitarian method of compensation. Contrary to popular belief, socialism is not a political system; it is an economic system and is very distinct from capitialism.[source]

Social democrats propose selective nationalization of key national industries in mixed economies, while maintaining private ownership of capital and private business enterprise. Social democrats also promote tax-funded welfare programs and regulation of markets. Many social democrats, particularly in European welfare states, refer to themselves as socialists, introducing a degree of ambiguity to the understanding of what the term means. Libertarian socialism (including social anarchism and libertarian Marsixm) rejects state control and ownership of the economy altogether and advocates direct collective ownership of the means of production via co-operative workers' councils and workplace democracy.[source]

Behind the bold policies of Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez is a revolutionary mass movement that is saying NO to capitalism, and attempting to change the course of Latin American history. Journey deep into the barrios, out to the factories and into the heart of the revolution to find out why there is a movement to transform society. Meet the people who are fighting for power in their communities, and taking control of their work places.

Follow the factory workers of Sanitarios Maracay in their struggle against sabotage and corruption, as they pave the way forward with their unprecedented campaign for full nationalisation under workers’ control. In this feature length documentary, meet many of the key revolutionary figures to find out how they are trying build socialism of the 21st century, and how it is changing peoples lives.

The perception today is that Mexicans are the only immigrants. We all forget that America is a nation that was built by the sweat of immigrants. As a matter of fact, the very roots of socialism in America can be traced to the arrival of German immigrants in the 1850s when Socialism was the belief and the hope that by proper use of government power, men can be rescued from their helplessness in the wild cycling cruelty of depression and boom.

Americans have been led to believe that socialism is something to be either ridiculed or feared. In my opinion, a Socialist is defined by one who rejects a world economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.

London's Observer newspaper says the April 11 coup d'etat against the democratically-elected government of President Hugo Chavez Frias has been linked to US President George W. Bush's team: Specialists in the 'dirty wars' of the 80s encouraged the plotters who tried to topple President Chavez, writes Observer WorldView correspondent Ed Vulliamy from New York.
"The Observer has established that the failed coup in Venezuela was closely tied to senior officials in the US government ... they have long histories in the 'dirty wars' of the 1980s, and links to death squads working in Central America at that time."
Washington's involvement in the turbulent events that briefly removed left-wing leader Hugo Chavez from power resurrects fears about US ambitions in the hemisphere ... it also deepens doubts about policy in the region being made by appointees to the Bush administration, all of whom owe their careers to serving in the dirty wars under President Reagan.[read more]

On August 11, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez declared the readiness of the South American countries to discuss with US President Barrack Obama the location of US army bases in Colombia.[read more]

"It makes sense that the Bush Administration wants to "oust" this leader" for the very same reason they "ousted" Saddam Hussein....America was left out of the "oil deals" and because the American people want oil...we invaded and steal it ...it's all of being an American....greed, hate, violence, and a sense of entitlement....tsk tsk tsk...I agree with the statement in the movie, "we must first define what Socialism means TODAY, then go forward from there. President Chavez births the evolution of humanity for his people....it's so very evident in the movie that our consciousness/awareness is growing at a rapid pace....Mayan Calendar?"
