Abolish War

It’s overwhelming to think about what we need to do: abolish war. How can we do it? How can we not? Martin Luther King Jr cautioned that we are confronted with the choice of “nonviolence or nonexistence”. Faced with these choices, we need to re-energise the process of exploring and experimenting with nonviolence.

We as a society, must embrace nonviolence. Come to the realization that nonviolence must be our way of life. For all of us, it is a form of action that affirms life itself, speaks out against oppression, and acknowledges the value of each human being.

Nonviolence can combine active resistance, with dialogue. We must demand withdrawal of corporate support for a system of oppression — We must work constructively towards alternative paradigms.

We must understand that nonviolence brings reconciliation: a strengthening of the social fabric, empowering those at the bottom of society, and including people with different views in seeking a solution.

Even when such aims cannot immediately be achieved, our nonviolence holds us firm to our determination not to destroy any life.

All I ask is that you sit and ponder what has been put before you. Have you ever been given the chance to see yourself through the eyes of another? Step back and take a look at your contribution to the way the world is NOW.

Ask yourself the following questions:

Do we have a common understanding of the problem or situation that exists?
Do we have a commond understanding of why this reality exists?
Does the analysis include the social, economic and political structures?
Do we have a common understanding that our survival depends on a nonviolent world?
Do you understand that the people of the world mutually agree to abolish war?
Do we understand that we have the power to abolish war?

  1. No wonder your feelings about war. You are an Aquarian. It takes society 50 years to catch up to what an Aquarian is thinking today. Keep the spirit nurture and well. Peace
