Land of Confusion

Hey folks.

I woke this morning around 4ish, and couldn't fall back asleep.  Over the past year, I have had difficulty sleeping through the night, and had been experiencing vivid dreaming.  I've noticed since the recent solstice, that it's been very easy for me to sleep throughout the night without vivid incident.

I reached for the remote control and flipped the television set to HLN (propaganda tv), and there it was a story about BP and the burning off of oil in the gulf.

Because BP has not prepared with enough tankers, they are burning off excess oil on the surface of the water. The problem that is developing is that some endangered turtles are being cooked alive. Add to that the high temperatures are also cooking to death the oil soaked brown pelicans , which were just removed from the endangered list.

BP seems to be on a path to make both the turtles and brown pelicans extinct.

The story that followed was about the Boycott of BP, and how the effort is working.  Gas station owners all over the country bave been loosing sales, and some are facing closure within months.

Of course BP publicly disagreed with the story, by saying that the boycott has had no affect whatsoever.

I say, bullshit -- the boycott is actually affecting BP and it's stock, and if we continue boycotting, we will indeed send a strong message to each and every corporation who think they can do what they please.

In unity we have power, and only  in oneness can we obtain victory! (read this out loud 3 times to yourself)

I ended up changing the channel and ran across VH1, where Miley Cyrus was singing about being framed and caged up?  Something like that...I quickly changed the channel.   I kept flipping and came across MTVClassics, and there it was....a song that eerily felt so right....

I must've dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street

Now did you read the news today
They say the danger's gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
There burning into the night

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?
Well this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Ooh, Superman where are you now
When everything's gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour

This is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago when the sun was shining
Yes, and the stars were bright all through the night

I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know, we'll never keep

Too many men, there's too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see, this is a land of confusion?

Now this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for
This is the world we live in

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to
