The Girl Who Silenced the World

Hey Folks,

I'd like to talk about Heroes.  You hear this word rolling off the tongues of so many people. 

But what does it buy?

In the media, everyone is portrayed as a hero –if you go to rehab, your a hero – if you go to sex therapy –your a hero. 

The mass media propaganda machine can create a hero from a soldier who has done nothing more couragous than pushing a button at some far away command center and launching rockets from an overhead drone that ends up killing civilians during a military raid in Afghanastan and Irag for that matter.

It is very apparent that we have no clue what a true hero is. 

Words of Advice for Young People

People often ask me if I have any words of advice for young people. Well, here are a few simple admonitions for young and old.

Never interfere in a boy and girl fight.

Beware of whores who say they don't want money. The hell they don't. What they mean is they want more money. Much more.

If you're doing business with a religious son of a bitch, get it in writing. His word isn't worth shit, not with the good Lord telling him how to fuck you on the deal.

Avoid fuckups. You all know the type. Anything they have anything to do with, no matter how good it sounds, turns into a disaster.

Do not offer sympathy to the mentally ill. Tell them firmly:

"I am not paid to listen to this drivel. You are a terminal fool."

Land of Confusion

Hey folks. 

I woke this morning around 4ish, and couldn't fall back asleep.  Over the past year, I have had difficulty sleeping through the night, and had been experiencing vivid dreaming.  I've noticed since the recent solstice, that it's been very easy for me to sleep throughout the night without vivid incident. 

I reached for the remote control and flipped the television set to HLN (propaganda tv), and there it was a story about BP and the burning off of oil in the gulf. 

Because BP has not prepared with enough tankers, they are burning off excess oil on the surface of the water. The problem that is developing is that some endangered turtles are being cooked alive. Add to that the high temperatures are also cooking to death the oil soaked brown pelicans , which were just removed from the endangered list.

Pursuit of Profit

In a world that claims to be growing more and more concerned about environmental issues, resource supplies, man made atmospheric changes and pollution. I find it fascinating that no one is talking about the most consistent destroyer of ecology and the most continuous waster of natural resources there is--the pursuit of profit.

Before the Neolithic revolution its been well documented by anthropologist that there was a natural balance to the planet. Population was in balance because we could only do what the Earth provided for us naturally.

Once we started to control the planet through agriculture, and now through many different means, we began to create dis-imbalance, we began to create uneven supplies, we began to generate scarcity deliberately for the sake of self-preservation and profit.

Money, contrary to the opinion the most of the worlds population today, is not a natural resource. Nor does it represent resources.

For what is time? 

Who can easily and briefly explain it? 

Who even in thought can comprehend it, even to the pronouncing of a word concerning it? 

But what in speaking do we refer to more familiarly and knowingly than time? 

And certainly we understand when we speak of it; we understand also when we hear it spoken of by another. 

What, then, is time? 

Summer Solstice 2010

Today is Summer Solstice of 2010.

Awed by the great power of the sun, civilizations have for centuries celebrated the first day of summer otherwise known as the Summer Solstice. This is when the Earth's axial tilt is most inclined towards the sun at its maximum of 23° 26'."

Sol + stice derives from a combination of Latin words meaning "sun" + "to stand still." As the days lengthen, the sun rises higher and higher until it seems to stand still in the sky.

As a major celestial event, the Summer Solstice results in the longest day and the shortest night of the year. Unlike, living in the Southern Hemisphere where it’s celebrated in December, as their longest day.

Culture is a Perversion

Culture is not your friend.

Culture is for other people’s convenience and the convenience of various institutions, churches, companies, tax collection scheme, or what have you. It is not your friend, it insults you. It disempowers you, and it uses and abuses you. None of us are well treated by culture, yet we glorify the creative potential and the rights of the individual.

We understand the felt presence of experiences, which is most important.

Culture is a perversion, it fetishes objects, creates consumer mania, while it preaches endless forms of false happiness. Endless forms of false understanding in the form of squirrely religions and silly cults.

It invites people to diminish themselves and dehumanize themselves by behaving like machines.

It’s often said that science cannot give us a foundation for morality and human values because science deals with facts. Facts and values seem to belong to different spheres.

It’s often thought that there is no description of the way the world is, that can tell us how the world ought to be.

A Civilized Age

The time has come, the electronic world evolves. Humans and data become closer –they will become one. Technology was supposed to make our lives easier; instead our lives grow more complicated. It was supposed to liberate us, instead it has enslaved us.

It’s time we demand a change. It’s time for a revolution, it’s not too late.

It’s time for something else.

The Venus Project is an approach to the problems we have today, and a possible solution.

If you don’t want war, if you don’t want crime, if you don’t want sneak attacks, if you don’t want highway robbery, serial killers, what you must do is declare the earth the common heritage of all the worlds’ people.

But when few nations control the water, will control the energy, will control the resources of the world, there is always going to be invasions, struggles, wars, and aggressions.

We are not wise enough yet, nor are we civilized.

The Museum of Human Atrocities

Are You Listening?

Do we really feel that it is this simple — that listening by itself will bring about transformation? Many will say that people have listened for centuries, yet man has not changed. But have they actually listened to another (as well as to nature and the environment around them at the same time) — or have they been listening only to themselves?

Have you ever listened to another without all the usual reactions of the mind to what you are hearing? And are not these reactions the things your mind is paying attention to?

It cannot possibly be as simple as just listening. We are inherently suspicious of simplicity, believing that only in complexity is the truth to be found.

That is why we have created a society in the hands of myriad experts (and driven leaders, like the new U.S. President, Barack Obama).

Our Obligation to Survive

With every century our eyes on the universe have been opened anew. We are witness to the very brink of time and space. We must ask ourselves,

“We who are so proud of our accomplishments, what is our place in the cosmic perspective of life?”

The exploration of the cosmos is a voyage of self discovery. As long as there have been humans we have searched for our place in the cosmos.

Are there things about the universe that will be forever beyond our grasp? Are there things about the universe that are Ungraspable?

One of the great revelations of space exploration is the image of the earth, finite and lonely bearing the entire human species through the oceans of space and time.

Evolutionary Enlightenment

The evolutionary process is going somewhere. And now, maybe for the first time in history, we can decide with more conscious awareness where it’s going. But our ability to do that depends entirely upon who we understand ourselves to be.

What part of our self are we identifying with?

Is it the personal psychological ego, or the conditioned habits and beliefs of our culturally created self-sense?

Or is it the deeper, more authentic self that we discover when we awaken to the impulse to evolve?

When we make the effort to identify more with the vertically moving energy of the impulse to evolve than with the horizontal pull of the personal ego and cultural self, everything changes.

We transcend the enormous weight of our own predetermined conditioning and open ourselves up to the liberating experience of that part of the cosmos that is trying to evolve through us in every moment.

We make ourselves available to that powerful telos, and when we do we become profoundly transformed.

The Spiritual Impulse

Why do some of us seek for higher truths?

Why is it that certain individuals are driven blindly, madly, and passionately to transcend their own limitations?

Why do we, at times, feel ourselves being compelled to improve ourselves, not only for our own sake but for the sake of a higher cause that we sense yet can barely see?

Why is it that in those precious moments when we are most conscious and most awake, we seem to intuit a deeper sense of purpose that is infinitely bigger than our personal worlds could contain?

What is that soft vibration that tugs on our hearts and beckons us to courageously leap beyond the small confines of the separate self so that we can participate in the life-process in a much deeper and more authentic way?

That vibration is none other than the spiritual impulse, which is the impulse to evolve at the level of consciousness. And I believe it is that very same impulse that caused something to come from nothing fourteen billion years ago, that compelled an entire material universe to miraculously emerge from complete emptiness.

One of many comments I received from readers of a commentary I posted on Craiglist, under the /rant and raves section.

I had the unfortunate displeasure of coming across this section of Arizona's Craigslist, and  I made the mistake of reading some of the posts

The venomous hatred inbred into each posting made it difficult for me to stomach.

After visiting quite a few different cities /rants sections, I soon realized that this was a wide spread mentallity among the CL readership, and a direct reflection of most americans state of mind.

The Conscious Mind

Now, the conscious mind exists as the thoughts that you are conscious of; meaning, the thoughts that run around and circulate in your mind, constantly and continuously during the day.

Thoughts are that which you think about.

Thoughts are that which you follow.

Thoughts are that which you take into consideration.

Thoughts are that which you allow to direct you.

Thoughts are that which you allow to tell you/inform you/control you of who you are, what you must be, and how you must be.

So, here I am, the manifestation of the conscious mind. I am part of the entire mind consciousness system inside human beings; I am the first level within the mind system that is allocated in the brain/mind/head area of each and every single human being.
