I am thankful I am alive.
I am thankful I have had the priviledge to meet some really great people.
I am thankful for having a partner who loves me.
I am thankful that I am able to love.
I am thankful for my talents and intelligence.
I am thankful there are still people out there that are above the propandganda.
I am thankful for having food in my belly, a roof over my head, and a bed to sleep on.
I am thankful I live in the most amazing time in the history of humanity.
I am thankful for all the free thinkers that have come before me and made it possible to question the status quo without being killed.
I am thankful for every one of my ancestors who had sex and spread the genes that I am made of.
I am thankful for every friend I've ever made, who have taught me lessons in life and given me the priviledge of teaching them lessons as well.
While I am thankful for a lot, I mourn the tragic truth of intentional aims to wipe out a culture of beautiful people that understood/stand how to be great stewards of the earth and live in balance with other sentient beings.
Furthermore, since we are a young and arrogant species that has a habit of turning a blind eye, or waiting until we are directly affected.
I seriously mourn for all those mama's out there right now struggling to keep their babies safe and fed, on this continent and others, both humans and animals.
There's so much tragedy, suffering and pain taking place with each slice of the turkey, pour of the gravy, and bite of pie.
Today I sit, cry and mourn not because I'm a Debbie downer who doesn't know how to be thankful for the blessings I have, but because we are a race of beings that can't agree to get our priorities straight to truly help those less fortunate, dependent and living in the shadow of evil greedy misdirected minds.
When there are children in this world that regularly fear the drop of bombs, and acres of forest are burning for profit, animals disregarded and thrown out to trash...
...I can't forget, never forget not even for a moment, and that doesn't make me less grateful, that makes me more determined to help others find their way back to their heart and be open to the truth...
...to do something about it!
I pray that people become more willing to step outside their daily comfort zones to bridge the gap between the world(s) we live in, in our minds and in reality, and fill it with the power of our hearts.
Yes, yes, be grateful but please let us each do something daily to reduce the suffering and pain.
The simple act of being grateful doesn't do much to help that Syrian child sleeping on the cold ground in a strange country, or the Lebanese infant that's crying out mama!, when mama was killed, the young peaceful black protestor, the animals burning up in an intentionally set fire... because of greed...
Let's co-create a better world, one where diversity blossoms, animals and nature are respected, and the act of protecting the young and dependent is of utmost importance!!
Don't think this doesn't involve you because as long as you reside on planet earth, it does, and don't think that you can't do anything because you can! [source]
